Machining Inconel, Titanium and Hastelloy in Japan

Precision turned metal parts, two flanges, a stepped shaft and a ring, on a tray in front of a CNC lathe

If you need parts in Inconel, titanium or Hastelloy, finding a shop that has actually cut them matters. These materials are hard on tools and easy to get wrong.

We're Take Parts Factory, an NC (CNC) lathe shop in Aichi, Japan. We've been cutting difficult materials for more than 25 years. Here is what we machine, and some parts we've made. You can write to us in English at info@takepartsfactory.com.

What we machine

Material Grades we work with
Inconel 718, 625, 600
Titanium Pure titanium (grade 1), Ti-6Al-4V
Hastelloy C-276, C-22
Other heat-resistant alloys Incoloy (including A286), Kovar, molybdenum
Stainless steel 304, 316, 310S and more

We also turn aluminum, copper and brass. Our machining range is Ø10 to 460 mm, up to 2,000 mm long. One piece is fine.

Inconel

Inconel is a heat-resistant alloy, and it hardens as you cut it. That makes it hard on tools.

Some Inconel parts we've made:

  • A thin-wall vacuum flange in Inconel 718: Ø130 mm, wall thickness 2.7 mm, tolerance 0.03 mm, made from plate, all steps in our own shop
  • A vacuum bellows flange in Inconel 718: Ø60 × 30 mm, tolerance ±0.03 mm
  • A part in Inconel 625: Ø25 × 100 mm, with a Ø2.1 mm hole through its whole length
  • A flange machined from solid bar in Inconel 600, all steps done in our own shop

We can also handle larger flanges, up to about Ø400 mm.

Titanium

Titanium traps cutting heat and wears tools quickly. We cut pure titanium and Ti-6Al-4V.

  • A pure titanium (grade 1) flange, Ø230 mm, held on a fixture we made ourselves, tolerance ±0.05 mm
  • A Ti-6Al-4V shaft, made as a prototype

Hastelloy

Hastelloy is a corrosion-resistant, heat-resistant alloy.

  • A Ø34 mm part in Hastelloy C-276, with a through hole 120 mm deep
  • A thin-wall flange in Hastelloy C-22, tolerance 0.05 mm

The tolerances above are the ones listed on those jobs. Every part is different. Send us your drawing and we'll tell you what we can do.

How we cut these materials

For us, a good part starts with the program. We use CAD/CAM, and we also write code by hand. Our own database, built from cutting difficult materials, helps us choose how to machine each part and which tools to use. Our shop and measuring room are temperature controlled.

The main machine is an OKUMA MULTUS B300IIW, a simultaneous 5-axis multitasking lathe. It can turn and mill a complex part in one setup. See our equipment page.

Frequently asked questions

Can you make just one piece? Yes. We take one piece or a production run, and we can take a part from prototype into volume.

Can I send my drawing in English? Yes. Write to us in English and we'll answer in English.

What should I send? Your drawing, the material and the quantity. Tell us what matters most: accuracy, lead time, or moving a part from another process to lathe work. If you don't have everything yet, send what you have.

Do you work with other difficult materials? We also machine Incoloy, Kovar and molybdenum. Ask us about any other material.
